Services & Methods
Epic Life Counseling works with individuals of all ages, couples and occasionally provides group sessions. I treat anxiety, depression, relational issues, grief, loss and life transitions and other struggles.
Counseling is available in-person or through Teletherapy. Email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a session.
My passion is to help you experience growth, healing and change through your struggle. I regularly participate in trainings to keep informed on the new and existing techniques to best benefit you.
If you come to my office, you will notice that it is in a church building. Regardless of whether or not you have a faith background, I want you to be comfortable here. My methods do come from an outlook of hope and faith from my personal Christian beliefs, and I believe counseling is beneficial to people of any faith background.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
Counseling is so individual! Each person comes in seeking something different, and it is my mission to sit with each person in front of me to provide the best support I can. Counseling is a process that we work on together to find out what will work for you.
My journey to wellness through seeking counseling has brought me to this beautiful place where it is now my mission to help others find hope, wellness and growth.
As a child, I faced many challenges. I lived with my birth mom till I was five years old and she left me at a babysitter’s house and never came back. For the next two years I lived in foster homes until I was adopted.
My adoptive family, however, was also dysfunctional, and a year later my adoptive parents were divorced. Over the next several years, I continued to experience emotional, verbal and physical abuse, until I believed I was worthless and not good enough for anyone.
Fortunately, that’s not the end of my story! If you can relate to any of that, I want you to know it does not need to be the end of your story either.
Change started for me when I heard a sermon about a passage in the book of John. A paralytic man came daily to sit by a pool, until one day Jesus came by and asked if he wanted to get well. That man said, “Yes, but…” I could identify. Yes, I wanted life and my perspective to be better, but…
It can be difficult to be fully willing and ready to do all it takes to get well.
Yet in that story, Jesus took that man’s “Yes” and healed him. After hearing that sermon, I was determined to do what it took to get well.
My journey to wellness has not always been easy, but it has been a consistent path of personal growth, healing and change. Without a doubt, my relationship with Christ has made a difference! There are still some days I cling to hope and faith, but there are many, many days when I simply believe that God has a perfect plan for my life.
I don’t know how your journey will go. I do know that it is possible. Let’s talk about the first step!
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.” J.R.R. Tolkien

Fees and Payments:
The fee for a 50 minute session (in-person or via Teletherapy) is $120.00. If a client is unable to pay this rate, a sliding fee rate may be applied which is based on gross monthly income. I also offer a student rate of $25.
I am not able to bill 3rd party insurance, but accept cash, checks and credit cards. Payment is due at the end of each session.
Not everyone can make it to an office for therapy, and I understand those challenges. This is why I also offer Teletherapy.
Teletherapy is a solution if you:
- Are sick for a week or a season
- Are homebound for any reason
- Don’t want to fight traffic to make it to an office
The therapy provided via Teletherapy is the same that you would receive in the office. The only difference is that you remain in the comfort and familiarity of your residence and we meet via video conference.
I use doxy.me, a HIPAA compliant video service. Once your session is scheduled, I will provide your link to connect to the platform via phone or email.
You will need a computer with Chrome or Firefox to access doxy.me.
